Customer Challenge
The Client had reached a bottleneck of its IT infrastructure availability while on-boarding business applications. These applications required stable connectivity, business enablement and continuity, with project sites hosting their SCADA Servers. With the anticipated high demand growth of the business applications, the stakeholders and leadership demanded a robust solution which caters to the future requirements at lowest CAPEX, without compromising on security and availability.
i-Source Solution
- The client infrastructure was thoroughly analyzed and an optimized roadmap for cloud adoption was provided.
- Platform evaluation for market leading service providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, etc., was conducted. Microsoft Azure was identified as the best-fit solution for the Client’s needs.
- Deployed SIM aggregator network device on project sites supporting four tele-ISP which gave constant bandwidth of 20MBPS. Master slave setup was deployed wherein project sites were slaves and headquarter, Cloud servers were master.
- Deployed Azure Kubernetes and Nexus DB on Azure to seamlessly integrate business applications.
- Extended On-premises setup to cloud to achieve disaster recovery parameters. Adopted Hybrid cloud setup wherein critical applications were moved to cloud and non-critical workloads were kept on-premises.
- Connected all three verticals of operations (cloud, HQ and Project) using Site-To-Site VPN tunneling to maintain redundancy, availability between servers. Created Point-to-site VPN on Azure to avoid single point failure for end-users.
- Monitored and analyzed IT infra requirement patterns as per quarterly and yearly roadmaps.
- The legacy applications were decommissioned while ensuring seamless flow of the business application.
Business Value Delivered
- Reduction of USD 95,000 PA due to product and SKU recommendations.
- Better collaboration between geographically spread entities.
- Improved security posture, including SSO and seamless IT environment.
- Optimized cost on cloud, optimal use of the existing CAPEX investment while avoiding new CAPEX.
- No single point of failure between all three verticals of operations i.e., Cloud, HQ, and project sites
- Achieved high uptime and reliable connectivity for remote operations
- Eliminated the delays caused to project timelines due to internet unavailability.
- On-prem DMS and SCM systems were made redundant through a single Enterprise Solution, thus achieving cost optimization.
